Specialized Care for LGBTQ+ Teens: The Nest

The Nest Program logo

Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital is proud to announce our newest treatment program, the NEST. The NEST provides affirming, evidence-based mental health treatment to youth who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning or queer in an environment free of minority stressors that could otherwise hinder progress toward meeting treatment goals.

We utilize an individualized approach through a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, therapists and specialized nurses, all of whom are trained in providing culturally inclusive and responsive care. Our goal is to increase resiliency, enhance coping skills and facilitate healthy familial and social relationships. Our supportive environment can empower our patients to take control of their own mental and emotional well-being.

Group Topics May Include

  • Coming out safely
  • The trans experience
  • What pride really means
  • Processing our stories
  • Healthy relationships
  • Stress management
  • Boundaries
  • Coping with grief
  • Health and wellness
  • Inclusiveness
