Treatment for Children

Acute Inpatient Treatment

Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital provides short-term, inpatient psychiatric services for children. Cedar Ridge can help those individuals that represent a danger to themselves, a danger to others or are in imminent danger of becoming a threat to the safety of themselves or others.

Inpatient treatment provides a structured and supportive treatment environment that promotes self-acceptance and helps stabilize patients suffering from acute psychiatric illness. A multidisciplinary treatment team guides treatment and makes recommendations for interventions during treatment and appropriate aftercare treatment upon discharge. Our primary goal is to provide crisis intervention and stabilization services in a secure setting, ultimately aiming for a transition to a lesser level of care and return to full functioning in the shortest time possible.

Residential Treatment Team
Many different people will be involved in your child’s residential treatment. They will be assigned to a doctor who will see your child every week. Your child will be assigned to a therapist who will help them to make their treatment plan – the goals that your child will work on while they are here. There will also be nurses, mental health techs (MHTs), and recreational therapy staff here every day to help your child to accomplish their treatment goals.

Children will be enrolled in Epic Charter Schools, a fully accredited public school. They attend school every day during the regular school year.

  • Medication may be prescribed by the doctor.
